  • Funny Pics From My Surveying Travels

The First on is from this morning when we were doing a mortgage survey on house in background of photo. Location - Williamston, SC

I nearly fell out of the truck laughing when we pulled up to the house.

The second one is from a church sign on hwy 417 in Simsponville, SC. We had to turn around after passing this one on the way to another job site. Nonetheless, "Knowledge is Pride and Wisdom is Powder."

I'll write something a little more in depth eventually.

  • Looking for a new car

As I was looking at car ads on craigslist, i found this particular description to be quite entertaining.

"I'm a first owner for this car i drived a lot of years. It's clean by interior and outerior. Runs steal so good. 138 highway miles. Automatic, power windows, out gold, inter grey.I don't wanna sell but i have to, cos my sister have surgery. Need really money assoon as possible.
Who will call first i give em good price. Please call us 6159771920.
Address: 3590 Marry ader, zip: 29414, charleston sc "

But seriously, if anyone want to let me have their car, or sell it to me for 3000 or less, it would be greatly appreciated. my camry blew a head gasket and now i need something else because i'm not going to pour $1000 more into that piece. let me know.

  • Charleston - And the damage done

So it has been quite some time since I've actually logged anything on Xanga. However, since my Facebook is linked to this I'll use this entry to kill two birds.

After the band open-mic at Ground Zero Wednesday night, which went extremely well by the way, I got home around midnight and had to be in Charleston by 9:15 for the Low-Country Live show. I had planned to leave at 5a.m. to give myself plenty of time to get into Charleston, sift through the traffic, get some breakfast and get to the TV studio. Plans have a funny way of half-way working out though.

I didn't fall asleep until 2.am.'ish simply because there is not enough time in a day for me and thus I was rushing to get CD's burned and labeled. However, it was not until I had made it to Charleston that I realized that in my haste I had inserted the label sheets into the printer upside down after having woke up at 5a.m. in a helter-skelter-esque daze Thursday morning.

To make things worse, after rushing through packing and loading my equipment into the truck and getting on the road, I realized my cell phone was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, I was already running late and almost to Columbia when this realization occurred.

So, I'm in Charleston, no cell phone, no phone numbers, no addresses and just my laptop, which, I almost didn't bring. Fortunately I was able to contact Rita and Kyle via my laptop as well as getting directions to everywhere I had to be this weekend.

Despite all of the adverse conditions, the trip has been one to remember. And the best part of it is that I've got the rest of the day to hang out in Charleston. So much left to do and so much more to see and hear. This has been an amazing weekend trip. I can't wait until next weekend when I'll return with Travis to see Ryan Adams.

    Catch you on the flip-side.

    **ADDITION
I got carried away in a conversation with a sax player here in the coffee house and forgot to say anything about the TV Show, Radio Show, and gig at The Blind Tiger Pub.

The TV show was great, although it was very packed as far as guests go. I was able to play 2 songs and get plugs for my CD as well as my Gig at the Blind Tiger. After the show, I went to Kyle and Rita's to unload and try to sneak a nap in. After oversleeping, I frantically hauled tail from Moncks Corner(where Kyle and Rita live) to downtown where College of Charleston is located. I made it to the Radio Station for C of C about 6:15p.m. which was slightly late seeing as I was supposed to be there at 5:45. They actually weren't sure if I was going to show up or not since I had not contacted them via phone. But I played 3 songs while giving a little background for the songwriting as well as some basic interviewing.

After all my PR stuff, I headed back to Kyle and Rita's for some chill time. We watched a DVD called the Polyphonic Spree which was mind-blowing. Really cool and well written pop-rock for a 20'ish person band. Check the DVD out for sure. www.thepolyphonicspree.com

Friday night was great as well, even though Rita told me to turn the wrong way. which made me slightly late. But it went very well nonetheless. I played for 3 hours at the Blind Tiger Pub on Broad St. which is a great Pub and was alot of fun to play. the last set though was so grueling and painful on my fingers though. I've not had to play 3 hours on my own before. I even got a few cuts on my fingers, both from picking and holding chords and notes. The Blind Tiger ended up being a little more of a social bar around 11 though. Which was ok for me since I had already been playing for three hours. I only wish I would have prepared a few more covers but I made due with what I did on the fly. After my gig, I went to The Map Room with Kyle and Rita and caught the tail end of a cover band's show. Though they were a cover band, they sounded really good and played their parts very well, sometimes a little bit better than the originals.

Now, I'm hanging out in downtown Charleston. still sitting at the coffee shop. And Listening to Let it Bleed over the speakers here at City Lights Coffee shop.

    Over and out.
